Challenge:

Surface Inspection provide specialised vision systems for inspection and quality control of ceramic tiles and asked Kinneir Dufort to provide industrial design for their new Flawmaster product range. The challenge was to create a product image which reflected the high technology automated functionality of the equipment whilst being sufficiently robust to cope with the environmental demands of high speed tile production facilities.

Solution:

Using a combination of powder coated sheet metal fabrication and aluminium castings, the housing provides the necessary robustness and protection for the vision system within a bold design. The display is protected behind a glass panel and an industrial quality keyboard switches and trackballs provide appropriate user interface.
