Pelham Sloane

Chelsea All-in-One PC

Challenge:

Pelham Sloane entered the computer market with their integrated all-in-one PC which features a full touch screen. The product had many innovative features but its image and design had failed to excite customers. Kinneir Dufort was challenged to repackage the product so it could compete more effectively in the highly competitive US computer market.

Solution:

Kinneir Dufort’s design solution uses a central chassis moulding to which all other components are mounted. This provides the flexibility to offer different screen sizes and different levels of technical specifications – all within the same basic architecture. The flexible industrial design scheme allows the product to be visually configured to match different markets by varying colour and texture on the three main external mouldings.

Results:

The Pelham Sloane Chelsea won a CES innovation award at the 2006 CES show in Las Vegas. The product proved to be particularly well suited to the US medical market where its enhanced functionality offered great flexibility for multiple applications.
