| Welcome
to our latest newsletter - in this issue we focus on recent projects which have been launched successfully on the market. All of them have been designed by the team here at Kinneir Dufort to meet real needs identified through user and consumer research. In our view, and in our experience, incorporating research as part of the innovation process is a key success factor, and certainly our integrated approach is increasingly sought after, with major research driven projects this year in North America, India and China as well as Europe. |

Accu-Chek Aviva Nano wins Red Dot Award
Tiny and sleek, it looks like a cool new MP3 player - infact it's the latest design we've created for blood glucose monitoring. Its good looks are intentional, appealing to child and teenage users who are motivated to self-test because they are happy to carry the Accu-Chek Aviva Nano around. The Red Dot Awards loved it too and have just given it one of their prestigious design awards.
(Red Dot is the largest international design competition in the world, with more than 11,000 submissions from 61 countries) |

Hours more undisturbed sleep
Gro Clock, Gro Company
This cute yet cunning device helps children who are too young to read a normal clock to know when it's time to get up or go to sleep. Having first hand experience of their children getting up too early, Gro Company founders came to us with an idea they hoped would provide a solution for all parents with a similar problem. We took the project from early creative concepts right through to the manufactured solution, in a turnkey programme which also integrated the development of the electronics and software. Just launched, Gro Clocks will soon be fulfilling their promise on bedside tables around the world.

Parents choose Potette Plus
Potette Plus, Thank Heavens
More help for parents comes with this portable potty and trainer seat which tackles the problems of toilet training and potty use when away from home. Parents everywhere have struggled to cope with this issue and now there is a solution which is so effective it's been given the Mother & Baby Gold Award for best travel product.
"Supported by their professional expertise, working with the Kinneir Dufort team was an exciting period of development for me. It is also a compliment to them and gratifying for me that six international awards have been won in the USA, UK and Europe since its introduction."

Improvements in user experience
Renasys EZ, Smith & Nephew
Offering dramatic improvements in wound healing outcomes, this is one of the lastest Negative Pressure Wound Therapy devices to enter the market. The design was based on customer insights that highlighted the need for improved patient comfort, ease of use and cost effectiveness. To meet these needs we created a contemporary, friendly and intuitive design with enhanced functions that improve the user experience including safety alarms, bed and IV pole mounts. As well as industrial and mechanical design we integrated the electronics and software development and produced the first batch of fully working units for trials.
