Challenge:

Veterinary formulations expert Probiotics were looking to develop their own metered-dose dispensing system for oral vitamin administration in new-born livestock. This was a strategic goal for the company who wanted an alternative to the proprietary dispensing gun used by their main rivals.

Solution:

After initial research, brainstorming and experimentation, KD’s recommendation was for a pack with an integrated dispensing mechanism. KD developed, prototyped and proved the design, before transfer to a production design. KD contributions included:

Integrated pack with patented dosing mechanism
Factory setting allowing variable dosing from 2ml – 5ml
Improved ergonomics with comfortable dispense position for farmer and animals

Results:

This successful result turned the original brief on its head by integrating the dispense mechanism into the pack. This allowed Probiotics to provide a complete solution to their customers whilst protecting their product offer from competitors.
