Bristol University have been testing a new technology for 5G wireless communication called Massive MIMO. Through recent experiments, they demonstrated that such a system could support 22 times as many devices when compared to the 4G networks of today.
We were approached to help with the delicate, complex process involved when working with intricate electronics. Through using our state of the art prototyping facilities, high levels of skill and mechanical knowledge, we were able to successfully produce the extreme levels of accuracy required to build the multi-layered components for experimental MIMO (multiple antenna technology) devices.
On 17th and 18th March 2018, Bristol played host to the Layered Realities Weekend 5G Showcase. This event launched the world's first public 5G testbed using Massive MIMO, to explore the next generation of wireless and wired connectivity through a series of free experimental public events.
