Kinneir Dufort shortlisted for a BEEA
We are thrilled to announce that our UK Abbey Well ‘Twist’ Bottle has been shortlisted for the British Engineering Excellence Awards, under the category of Materials Application.
In partnership with Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP), our team created a best-in-class, super lightweight water bottle, that carefully balances financial, social and environmental factors through innovative design. Using 28% less plastic than the previous design, the bottle is 100% recyclable and uses less energy to produce and transport than ever before.

British Engineering Excellence Awards
“The British Engineering Excellence Awards (BEEAs) aim to demonstrate and promote the quality of engineering design within the UK.”
The BEEAs are here to:
- “Emphasise innovation and effectiveness in order to allow smaller companies to compete on an equal footing with larger ones”
- “Act as an incentive to the design engineering industry to create world-class businesses”
- “Provide a benchmark of excellence from which the industry can learn and from which it can build; and to demonstrate the power of engineering design innovation within the UK to the world.”
The winners of this year’s Awards will be revealed on Thursday 5 October at The Honourable Artillery Club (HAC) in London, hosted by broadcaster and STEM enthusiast Johnny Ball.
