Improving water quality in the developing world

Detects one E. coli colony in a 100ml sample - the equivalent of finding a coffee bean in 40,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

With funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, we worked alongside Bristol University to create a reliable way for people in the developing world and crisis situations to test the quality of drinking water without delay.

Our experts in research, graphic design, mechanical engineering, prototyping and industrial design collaborated on a detailed program of work for four years. We delivered a low cost, disposable test device with a sustainable base for manufacturing and distribution, transforming the lives of countless people.
