We were challenged to uncover insight with IKEA for the sofa bed market, working to understand how three  global markets might have differing needs for sofa  beds and to establish how to create consumer  value tailored to specific regions.

What we did

Taking an exploratory approach, we used contextual research and spent time with people both in-store and in their homes to gain a unique perspective on what was important to them for sofa beds. using stimulus to co-create, we gathered insight into market specific needs.

Insights were translated into innovation platforms  and features, to create a foundation for design  directions for the IKEA design team.
